Please read! I need help from anime fans!

I need to make a list of Queer anime characters for a class project. Queer includes: gay (out, not speculated including lesbian and bi), very flamboyant but "straight," and any form of cross-dressing.

Note: I am looking for any and all help. If you're unsure of an instance of queer behavior in a character, please post them anyway.

Some examples I have are:
Masumi from Notame Cantabille (He's out and has a crush on the main character)
Kaorin from Azumanga Daioh (She has a crush on Sakaki)
Dilandau from Escaflowne (She lives life as a man)
Haruhi from Ouran (She crossdresses as passes as male)

Please help with this! Anything and everything is a great help and is much appreciated.

P.S. Sorry I've dropped off the face of the Earth. School has been complete HELLLLLZ. I'll be able to update after finals are done on the 8th.

Yeah. Quick news update!
- AX = not the best con ever. I'm sorta tired of the anime con scene, might stick to comic cons.
- Cal = best place on Earth. I can't wait to start school
- Heartbreak happened, but I got over it and I have a new appreciation for the people that care about me.
- I don't sit down on busses next to men anymore, nor will I look any man in the eye again on the bus. At least not until I get over some PTSD
- Gonna be going to Fresno and then San Diego with Tyler. ROAAAD TRRRIIIIIPPPP
- I have started wearing a lot of fishnet... Spiffy?
- On facebook, I have a new daily note called "song of the day"
- I've been drawing and reading a lot more and it makes me happy! RAWR
-Might not make it to Sac Anime, but I might just go for a day. Time will tell.
-I'm gonna do my best to make a Poison Ivy costume in a week's time... Wish me luck?
- My pikachu needs a bath
- I really want a cookie

09:59 pm: AX?! OMG!
So, I realized that AX is like, 25 days away. I wanted to unleash some new costumes, and I'm in the Masq. so my ultra special secret costume is first priority...

SO other than that... What should I do?!

I don't think I'll have time to make my originally planned big birthday dress, and the more I think about it, the more it sounds like a waste of time and money since I could only wear it once... Instead, I will search second-hand stores and the like for cute pink/white dresses and mod them (and make the scepter, since it'll be cooool)

Also, I wanted to make a new costume from One Piece, which will be Jewelry Bonney. I know the one from Fanime will be at AX too, and I want to take pics with her. Boa Hancock is undoubtably gonna be too complex/expensive for me AND she'll be really really new so a lot of people will probably be in a rush to cosplay her. This is my second priority since I already have the wig.

Finally, I have all the supplies for Dita from Vandread... I really want to make it, it's one of my dream costumes, but I want to feel good about myself before I wear it. 25 days isn't enough time to get in good shape tummy wise, and I think it's a bad idea to rush into the costume anyway. It's the last on my list.


Unless any of ya'll think I should cosplay Ritsuko Akagi from Eva? I bought a labcoat today for a photoshoot and I was wearing my pencil skirt when I tried it on, and I as like "who does this remind me of?" And then it hit me: Ritsuko has long been on my to-do list and I wouldn't miss the AX Eva gathering for the world, though I figured I'd haul out Misato again (like, the red skirt version that I still have no good shots in or the drunken slut version which I have yet to debut, but is really... A cop out if you aren't totally into Eva...

So yeah, let me know what you think. 25 Days 'till AX, 25 days to make it happen, and 25 days 'till I'm legal, WHOO!


ALSO, very important, if you are going to AX (for Day one, which is my B-day) please let me know if you'd like to come to a little party I'm gonna have? This is a big deal for me, I won't be "Jailbait" anymore and I'd like to come of age surrounded by my cosplaying friends!

Also, Nessa, would you be into a joint party? It's your 21st too, right?

I am now officially a high school graduate... Which means I am one step closer to going to UCB and getting into grad school!

I love school! I can't wait to go to a new one though...

So yeah, yay me!

The legend, who I mostly knew from Kill Bill but also Kung Fu and other stuff, is dead. They say he hung himself.

Now I can't make jokes at his expense. I really do feel bad about that.

I totally just finished Mari-tan...

Well, at least enough for debut. There are a few things I still want to fix up on it, but I can't bear to put off wearing it to AX when it's so nearly complete. It really only needs a little collar flap thing, stocking toppers and my campaign ribbons.

So yeah, look forward to it. My Masq. costume will be done by 10am tomorrow too or I'm dead meat~

Teehee. I'm so proud of these costumes. I feel like I've really stepped it up.


And for those of you in the masq: watch out -- our group this year is awesome and we've been working really hard, so we'll be giving everyone a run for their money!

08:54 pm: 'Scuze me while I seethe with anger...
I just realized I never pre-registered for Fanime. Between my dad having cancer and trying to get stuff together for the masquerade group and housing and transportation, it just slipped through the cracks.

Well, fuck.

I'm really upset. I'm glad I'll be leaving school so early on Friday, I managed to get the approval to present my project to the school instead of the three teacher panels, so I won't need a booth.

I'll be getting out at 2pm at the latest... That means that I'd be in San Jose by 3:30 at the latest. I'd need to check into my Hotel, GET REGISTERED, do a quick shoot and change into my Masq. costume for judging by 5pm (because I want to take my time in getting around and maybe get a few shots solo with my dad before the group stuff starts happening....)

Can I even make that happen? I have no FRAAKINN clue...

In other news, all of my free time is spent reading the Twilight series. I'm an addict, and I'm not happy about it.

So, since I just saw the new One Piece theme song and since I now have references for them...

WANT TO COSPLAY JEWELRY BONNEY AND BOA HANCOCK OMG!!!

BUT, I of course don't have time to cosplay them for Fanime... BUT, I can always attempt another closet cosplay of Luffy, yes? I have the hat, shoes, and wig... And depending on the version, I might not need pants too... It all depends on the vests I can find while thrift shopping! But for the ladies, AX? Esp. Hancock... <3

After all sorts of mind games, manipulation, and tarot readings, I have decided to go to UCB.

11:29 pm: Wicked AWESOME
SO, I know I should be going to sleep, not staying up to write in BOTH of my LJs... (For those of you who missed the memo, add EBcosplay to LJ too to keep up with my cosplay exploits for this month)


But OMGOMGOMG WICKED. I feel awful, I spent $40 that could've gone to my costumes on a shirt because I fell so in love with that show... I never listen to soundtracks before seeing shows if I can help it because I don't want to color my expectations, and I'm glad I didn't (because tons of people were borching about the lead's performances...) I can't remember the last time a stage show has inspired me so much! The costumes! The music! THE STORY OMFG ASDFGHJJKLL::........


But seriously, I feel energized... I want to defy gravity too~

Also, anyone happen to have a pre-made small resin mold of just a plain circle for my Sheila brooch? I'm contemplating returning all the resin stuff I bought today because the mold making stuff was too expensive ($36 for the mixture, $15 for the spray for the mold...) But if someone else happen to have one, I'd use my own resin and dyes and make them that way. SO yeah, let me know. Thanks~

Leave it to me to make it through 4 years of highschool without injury, just to sprain my ankle on the last day of school.

Needless to say, I don't feel so great now. Hopefully International Day will help me cheer up and ease the pain.

As of now, I have finished all of my homework for highschool. All of it. Done.

Done!

And oddly enough, my last assignment was a paper on syphilis... Fun stuff.

But yea, no more highschool homework. FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

12:17 am: NCCBF


Wow, NCCBF was awesome. The animemyu performance this year was really fun, it seemed to go by so fast, I barely noticed it happening as it happened. Afterward I got to chill with Shalyn and her buddies which was fun, then I rushed home to start finishing up Venus.

The parade was fun, Venus went over really well (I officially completed it after the above picture was taken though...) and I spent the day with Lindsay and then met up with Andrea and Mark and we all hung out and they came over and we had good times... I just have one thing to say: I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!!!

I'm pooped out of my mind. I can't believe I have school tomorrow... I have my shadow appointment thing at Berkeley too.... Eeeep! Better get some sleep!

01:53 am: Eternal Sailor Venus~
Venus-chwan is pretty much done! I've got it ready enough for wear tomorrow for the show (where accuracy and completetion matter less than flashynes...) save for a little bit of hemming on the sleeves and skirt.

Everything is convertable, in that I built this on top of my old PGSM costume, but it can be reverted back to that state with some quick seam rips, basting, and velcro. The second skirt comes off, the gloves stretch, the sleeves are secure, but only loosely attached (an MAN that sleeve pattern was a bitch to draft, let me tell you...)

Even the little ribbons in the back come off... The wings are also hella spiffy, I've upgraded them for the show.

I really feel like I've leveled up on this one. I've drafted a pattern for sleeves now! That was really much more of a task than I thought it would be, but that I've done it, I should be able to do it again! The change is remarkable... Some of you might look at it and say "was that really the same old costume from last year?"


I can't wait to debut this baby tomorrow (err... today.) Now I just gotta concentrate on my moves and my singing... Wish me luck!

01:27 pm: Hai Gaiz: Update
So hey, I wanted to check in on sosme stuff with you...

For NCCBF, and the anime myu performance, I hope to have Eternal Sailor Venus ready. I'm actually modding my old venus costume so that it's convertible to save money on supplies. Whoopie!

That said, I'm having trouble finding references of what the eternal bows on the front and back look like... My version wont be super accurate because I want to keep my old costume intact in a lot of ways, but I at least want the bows to look less PGSM and more Manga accurate (specifically, is her back bow orange, yellow or blue?...


Also, I'm sick! Hahaha... I've had terrible bowel trouble since I got back from Ecuador. The doctor says I might have a bacterial infection or a parasite! YAY... So yeah.

I hope to be better for school tomorrow, I think that's when they're giving out the senior awards... I want to support my friends, and maybe get one myself... Am I being to hopeful wishing for the Bio Department award? Maybe a leadership/individuality award...? I JUST WANT ONE MORE SHINY THING FOR MY HIGH SCHOOL GRAD TRANSCRIPT DAMNIT!!!

So, yeah, busy week ahead.
-One 5 page paper for Humanitas
-One costume to be modded
-Practice dancing in my stilettos for animemyu (might just go with the flat boots for the performance...)

And I want to get better. So yeah... That's my life atm.
